This week I helped a client select locations in her new home to hang the artwork that she lovingly collected on her travels with her late husband. These pieces stir fond memories of their adventures together and generate an emotion every time she passes them. I cringed when she suggested that she just got to a local discount department store to find some pieces to fill in. 🤦‍♀️ Fill in pieces just won’t do! Connect by with a local artist, attend art fairs, go to an art gallery- support artisans creating works that speak to you! When you find that special piece to fill a void on your wall-you will know.

Today is world premie day! All 3 of my children we

Today is world premie day! All 3 of my children were premature but this guy was the earliest. He was born 6 weeks premature and required a 2 week stay in the NICU. He was also my smallest baby at 5lbs 15oz. I remember having to buy the premie sleepers and thinking that he would always be smaller than kids his age…that was NOT the case! By 3mo. old, he was always off the charts in height and weight at the doctor’s office. This little premie is now 19yrs old and 6’5” tall.
I would say that that experience did define me as a parent, the tubes, ivs and monitor alarms, but it certainly hasn’t held him back at all.
Today I honor this little guy and how he shaped me as a parent. 💗

Are you ready for the Fall season? When I prepare

Are you ready for the Fall season? When I prepare for Autumn, I think about my exterior first. Then I look for ways to include the season inside. Decor items, chunky knit throws and pillows. Ways to make the inside cozy and comforting as the nights grow longer and the temperature drops.

No niches here! With 2 exterior walls, a niche to contain shower product wasn’t a smart idea.
Here we built out a ledge and bench, topped them with the same material as sills to match our countertops. The effect is a lovely frame. Next glass, then shower fixtures!
